Methodology and sources

These figures are planned-spending and consumer-intent results, not final retail sales. The Mother’s Day findings come from a survey of 7,877 U.S. adults conducted April 1 through April 8, 2026. The Father’s Day findings come from a survey of 7,914 U.S. consumers conducted April 30 through May 6, 2026. Both surveys were released by the National Retail Federation with Prosper Insights & Analytics and reported a margin of error of plus or minus 1.1 percentage points.
